About Us

Thank you for visiting our website, whether you are a current or prospective Rockwern Academy family.

Formerly known as Yavneh Day School, Rockwern Academy’s excellence is based not only on our programs, people, curriculum and technology but rather most importantly on a singular and consuming focus on the needs of individual children, in a commitment to helping those children become the best Jewish human beings they can in all areas, and in a culture of flexibility and innovation that allows this focus to remain true despite changing times. And it is an excellence that crosses into all areas --- academic, religious, service learning, artistic, and athletic. When you give your child the gift of a Rockwern Jewish education, you truly give them the world. In that spirit, we invite you to visit and, we hope, share that world with us.

My pledge to you on behalf of our community is nothing but excellence, an unwavering focus on our children, and complete transparency in all things.

As always, my best to you and yours,
jewish students

smiling childrenRockwern Academy knows that its excellence as a Jewish private school is determined by the strength of its faculty. Accordingly, we work hard to attract and retain outstanding individuals who bring knowledge and enthusiasm to the classroom and model the values we strive to instill.

Rockwern’s teachers are dedicated professionals committed to creating a positive educational experience for each child. All of our teachers are certified and most hold advanced degrees. Professional development plans ensure that all of our teachers demonstrate a commitment to best practices and life-long learning. Our low faculty/student ratio of 1-8 allows the teachers to know each student well.

Our faculty includes not only classroom teachers but a full-time guidance counselor, a full-time speech pathologist, and a remedial teacher. We have a full-time nurse, and our media center is staffed full time as well.
