Rockwern students are taught that they tzedakahhave a commitment to help those who are less fortunate and need assistance. From the Pre-K and kindergarten “Mitten Mitzvah” for a local elementary school, to our annual school-wide food drives to benefit local charities such as the Kosher Pantry and the Freestore Foodbank, Rockwern’s social action activities seek to put this lesson into practice in every grade throughout the year. We have annual community outreach programming with both the Halom House and the Seasons Retirement Community, preparing mishloach manot Purim baskets for both Halom House and Seasons residents. Our Pre-K classes from Rockwern’s Early Childhood Education Center visit the Seasons each Hanukah to light candles, sing songs, and make arts and crafts with the residents.
