Space is limited, and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
All After-School Activities are also open to non-Rockwern families, so be sure to invite your friends!
If class minimums are not met, families will be informed in advance of the first class and will receive a refund.
Unless a class is cancelled by Rockwern, there will be no refunds.
Monday
NEW! RoboCoding with Nexplore (Grades K-2: $230)
RoboCoding gives students a hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of both coding and robotics by challenging them to build and execute programs with real robots. Using award-winning Cubelets, students combine robotic cubes to craft machines that can light up, move, and interact with the world around them. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 10 sessions between August 25 and November 3. This activity will not meet on September 1.NEW! Energize with Nexplore (Grades K-5: $230)
Energize uses cooperative games and activities to get students moving! Expert instructors lead students through engaging and fun challenges in a non-competitive environment to build physical skills like hand-eye-foot coordination, throwing and catching, kicking and receiving, and fundamental racquet techniques. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 10 sessions between August 25 and November 3. This activity will not meet on September 1.
Tuesday
Amazing Athletes (Ages 2-5)
Join our friends from Amazing Athletes for this active and educational multi-sport session. Each class features a warm-up, active education, patient sports, and a cool-down. Registration includes a t-shirt! This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:00 PM. There will be 8 sessions between August 26 and November 4. This activity will not meet on September 23, October 7, and October 14.Drawing & Painting with Diane Woloshin (Grades 1-3: $120)
In this class, Mrs. Woloshin will use a variety of materials as she introduces various drawing and painting techniques! This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 8 sessions between August 26 and November 4. This activity will not meet on September 23, October 7, and October 14.NEW! 3D Printing Start+ with Nexplore (Grades 5-8: $200)
This class empowers students to bring their imaginations into reality with 3Doodler pens. Each lesson combines a structured STEAM project with wiggle room to doodle, explore, and create their own ideas. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 8 sessions between August 26 and November 18. This activity will not meet on September 23, October 7, and October 14.
Wednesday
WEBBY Dance (ECEC 3 & Pre-K: $145)
Instructors will lead a fun and exciting introduction to ballet and creative movement. Utilizing props and age-appropriate music, students will build memory, concentration, coordination, and self-confidence. Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt and non-restrictive pants, leggings, or shorts. This class will meet from 3:15 - 4:00 PM. There will be 8 sessions between August 27 and November 5. This activity will not meet on September 24, October 1, and October 15.NEW! Build-A-Bot with Nexplore (Grades 3-5: $175)
In this program, students practice their engineering skills to create a series of robot models, each operating with a different mechanism and fulfilling a unique purpose. Students challenge their hands and minds to build fascinating bots, like the Fiber Optic Lamp, Powered Boat, Bubble Blower, and more! This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 7 sessions between August 27 and November 5. This activity will not meet on September 24, October 1, October 8, and October 15.Painting & Independent Projects with Diane Woloshin (Grades 4-8: $105)
Students will explore painting and new art mediums with guidance from Mrs. Woloshin. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 7 sessions between August 27 and November 5. This activity will not meet on September 24, October 1, October 8, and October 15.
Thursday
NEW! Chess with Nexplore (Grades 3-8: $240)
This class introduces students to the game of chess and helps them develop critical thinking, strategy, and problem-solving skills. During the course, students practice chess basics, different opening strategies, and how to checkmate their opponent. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 10 sessions between August 28 and November 6. This activity will not meet on October 2.
