Toni Brownell
Director of the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC)
Toni Brownell is the Director of the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). She began at Rockwern in 2007, and became Director in 2017. Previous to her role here at Rockwern, she taught at the Jewish Center for Youth Services in Chicago for several years. Mrs. Brownell has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Michigan State University (MSU). She completed her student teaching at an early childhood center at MSU, followed by an internship here in Cincinnati at The New School.
Mrs. Brownell was once a student here at Rockwern Academy, which at the time was Yavneh Day School, along with her siblings. Her children, as well as her nieces and nephews, all have spent time in the halls of Rockwern. Fun fact about Mrs. Brownell: she was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and moved here just in time to start kindergarten at Yavneh.
